The Harwell Feast Committee were delighted to distribute cheques to grant recipients at their AGM on 16th October 2018.
Thanks to all who came to the meeting to collect their cheques. They shared with us their plans on how the grants would be used to benefit their group and the village.
Please follow this link to listen to an interview with Jeanette Howse from Tourism Southeast and our very own Sharon Palmer promoting this year’s Feast. It’s about 2 hours 7 minutes into the programme.
At our most recent meeting in November we agreed that because we still had surplus funds from the 2018 Feast any local organisation that had not already applied for a grant could do so.
Please send in your application by 31 December to info@harwellfeast.com and we will discuss it at our 21 January meeting.
The Feast Committee now invites applications for funding.
We aim to carry over sufficient funds to support next year’s event but with the surplus we will consider at our September meeting making funding donations to Harwell organisations, clubs, and others whose activities substantially benefit the residents of Harwell. Note that if funds are oversubscribed the Committee may look more favourably on those who supported the event organisation by helping in the planning and/or on the day itself.
If you wish to be considered, please write a note explaining your request with detailed costings including other support and existing resources etc to enable the Committee to make an informed decision. The closing date for applications is Friday 31 August. Applications should preferably be sent by email to info@harwellfeast.com or by post to Harwell Feast Committee, c/o 2 Charterville Close, Minster Lovell, Witney, Oxon OX29 0SL.
Join us in Harwell Village on 28th May 2018; come to our Parade, crafts, car boot sale, and an arena with entertainment for all the family.
Parade starts at 11:00am, and the entertainment continues all afternoon.
Bring the family: free parking.
The Harwell Feast is an annual event which is visited by thousands of people. On the day there will be many attractions to appeal to all age groups. In addition the Feast Committee offer a BBQ and Pig Roast – plus value for money refreshments, including tea, coffee and soft drinks, filled rolls and cakes – in the Pavilion.
In 2018 the living history event will be provided by the Marquess of Winchester’s Regiment who will be pleased to welcome visitors from 2pm on Sunday 27th May. The Regiment will also take part in the parade through the village and battles in the main arena on Feast Day itself.
Enquiries from those wishing to find out more about the Harwell Feast should be sent in the first instance to Sharon Palmer of the Harwell Feast Committee.
